Dog training, walking and boarding in London

about US

I started Barney and Rosie's in April 2015 as I wanted to create a service that was both professional and personable. I wanted owners to know that their dogs were in safe, knowledgable hands, and that they would be treated as one of the family too. Today, I have two wonderful members of staff on my team, and together we strive to provide a service that is both flexible and tailored to meet both you and your dog's individual needs.

I have over three years of experience walking dogs, and I am fully canine first aid trained. I have several dog behaviour and psychology qualifications, including a Professional Dog Trainer diploma from the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training (CIDBT), and I continue to take courses in a variety of subjects in order to better understand and help the animals that I work with.

We offer a fantastic range of services from dog walks to countryside daycare, which is our most popular service.

We currently walk and dog sit in London's Kensington and Chelsea. Our daycare is in South Bucks near Windsor & Eton.

My life is quite simply centred around dogs. They are my passion, and I am the luckiest girl in the world to be able to work with them every day.
— Ria

I look forward to welcoming your dog to the Barney and Rosie's family.

House Sitting

Going away for business or for pleasure can be stressful when you have a dog as finding someone you trust to take care of your pet in your home can be a daunting and unnerving experience. We hope to make you feel as comfortable as possible so that you can relax whilst you are away knowing that both your dog and home are in capable hands.

We send regular updates on how your pet is getting on, and will make sure your home is exactly as you left it. No-one other than the person you have requested to be in your home will be there. Your privacy and your dog's happiness is paramount.

Private Walks

If you would prefer that your dog is walked alone as opposed to in a pack then we are able to accommodate you. Should you require dog training, depending on the situation, I may join you on one of your walks to help you build a successful and positive relationship with your dog.

Walks

Our group walks last between one to two hours. There is a maximum of four dogs per group and we alternate between parks including Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and Holland Park. I make sure that each group has dogs that are compatible with each other and we have often been complimented on how well behaved our dogs are, and how nicely they get on with each other, as well as with the other dogs that they meet in the park.

We either walk to the park or go in the van. The van is very secure and is always locked. It is fitted with crates, comfortable blankets and bedding, and there are towels if the dogs get wet or dirty. We also have plenty of water and organic home-made treats. The van is particularly useful as it means that the dogs that go out with us on day care get a well deserved break. It is air-conditioned for the hotter days and there are electric blankets for winter. For your dog's security there is no logo on the van.

Daycare

Should you have to leave your dog alone for long periods of time during the day then our daycare may be a suitable option for you. Whether on a regular basis or once in a while we are happy to have your dog spend the day with us and their doggy friends. We provide a very flexible service so we are also often able to accommodate last minute bookings in case of emergencies, though planning in advance if possible is preferred.

The dogs join us on our countryside adventures.  There are three walks in total and they get a welcome rest in the van during pick-ups and drop-offs. The van has air-conditioning and electric blankets, plenty of water and tasty home-made treats. We are happy to send you up-dates during the day should you wish.

The daycare day usually begins between 7.30-8.30am which is our first pickup slot. Your dog will be picked up by Ria or a member of her team in their well equipped vans. The first walk is in Holland park, Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park for between 1-1.5 hours so the dogs are happy to rest whilst we drive to the daycare. We have a choice of hundreds of walks in the area - some of our favourite spots are by Dorney Lake, Burnham Beeches, Windsor Great Park, Eton Riverside and Maidenhead Thicket to name a few.  If your dog is muddy or has rolled in something we provide a wash and dry service at an additional cost, please enquire as it is breed specific.

Our drop off time is between 4.30-5.30 depending on traffic.

This is truly a wonderful, exciting and fun filled day out for your dog. Every need is catered for by our fantastic team and is a very popular service. Our land is well secure and is constantly monitored by the staff. Please contact Ria if you would like to drop by to see the place or organise a trial day.

I cannot recommend Ria highly enough. She is deeply caring, warm and friendly. Full of good advice and help if things are tough and very very responsible. The whole family adores her and we think ourselves lucky to have her. My whippet cannot wait to greet her!
— Emily Maitlis

Boarding

Based in either the Daycare in Windsor near Eton or South London your dog will either stay with Ria or a member of her team, who conveniently live on the same street as each other. Both are fully canine first aid trained and Ria has her beloved little dachshund Colin to keep your dog company. Your dog will have a home from home and will be treated as one of the family with access to a secure garden at Ria's. The daycare service is included with boarding, so your dog will come out with us all day as a member of our wolf-pack unless you request otherwise. Please do not hesitate to get in contact with us should you have any questions. You will receive regular updates whilst you are away and we are more than happy to arrange a FaceTime session for you and your dog should you wish.
